Kanye West had a nervous breakdown, he was pushed over the edge by anniversary of mom's funeral
Kanye West just snapped a week ago Monday in what we're told was a "nervous breakdown" ... triggered in large part by the anniversary of his mother's death.
Sources very close to Kanye tell TMZ ... he was
increasingly becoming a powder keg of emotions in the weeks leading up to his hospitalization at the UCLA Medical
Center ...
Fueled by what we're told was a shocking lack of sleep and the pressures of touring, running his businesses, parenting and providing emotional support to his wife who was suffering her own emotional trauma after the Paris robbery.
But our sources say the trigger for the breakdown was Donda's death back in November 2007. Her funeral was November 20 -- the same day he cancelled his show at the L.A. Forum . The following day -- November 21 --
Kanye cancelled the remainder of the tour and hours later suffered the breakdown.
People close to Kanye tell us he never effectively grieved over his mom's death and has always had a difficult time in November, but this time he reached the breaking point.
Kanye, we're told, has had trouble handling stress over the last few months, and in the week or so before the breakdown he started to unravel.
As we reported ... Kanye became paranoid when he was taken to UCLA ... refusing for a time to even let doctors touch him. He also ranted that people were trying to ruin his marriage.
Kanye was sedated and is being treated by doctors and mental health professionals. Doctors hoped to release him 2 days ago, but that didn't happen and so far ... no new release date.
At least that what TMZ is claiming.

Sick female corps member allegedly dies after being forced to partake in military drills at Kano camp
There are tributes to this young lady on social media, by people who claim to know her. The corps member allegedly passed away after she was forced to partake in some camp activities, even though she was sick.
A lady at the camp also states that the lady in questionbdied due to negligence, because “they (officials) assumed she was pretending to be sick in order to dodge parade, so they refused to treat her until the situation got complicated.” The Nigeria Police and other appropriate authorities definitely need to get involved and investigate this. May her soul rest in peace.
Stop planned tariff increment for data services in Nigeria, Group tells, FG, NCC, Telecoms
group saddled with advocacy for Advancement,
Development and sustenance of Democracy in Nigeria,
Wailing Wailers, has, Tuesday, asked the Federal
Government, the Nigerian Communication Commission, NCC, and Telecommunication companies to abort the planned increment of tariff on data services in the country.
In a statement signed by its Ag, Usman Abubakar, it warned
that such planned action would lead to rape of democracy
and freedom of speech.
“Our attention has been drawn to the sinister siege on the Nigerian people and plot against their interest by the Federal Government of Nigeria. This plot, led by President Muhammadu Buhari is being executed by one of the government’s agencies, Nigerian Communication Commission (NCC) who reportedly, has directed all the telecommunication companies in the country to increase their DATA Services Tariff by 200%. If this is allowed to work, 1.5 Gig which presently costs N1,000.00, will then go for N3,000.00, meaning an extra N2,000.00.”
“This is sheer insensitivity and callousness being
demonstrated by the Buhari administration, the same government, we believe, purposely created this economic crisis and hardships in order to arrogate ‘Absolute Powers’ to himself.”
“Since Buhari became the President, his policies has been wrecking the economy of the nation. Nigerians may not know that Buhari is weaponising poverty to enslave the people, and render them powerless to demand accountability from him.”
“Recall that few days ago, one of his aides, the Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria, Mr Godwin Emefiele proposed that the Government should begin to tax Nigerians who make phone calls above 3 minutes. In the same vein, Buhari’s cabinet, Minister of Information Mr. Lai Mohammed complained that Social Media has been the bane of their government.”
“ Previously, Buhari had tried to suppress the Social Media via the Senate, but the bill was thrown out after awidespread public rage.”
“Let It be known that if Buhari’s government is moving in the right directions, no one will criticize the Government on social media. If the Nigerian youths are provided with employments as they promised during their campaigns,
they will not be bothered about criticizing the
administration; they will rather focus on the strengths, achievements and accomplishments of the Government if there is any.”
“But, there is not one visible achievements of this Government, on which they should be commended. We see all their public utterances as a reflection of the whims and caprices of their master Buhari who seems bent on driving
Nigeria aground.”
“Adding insult to injury, NCC has instructed all
Telecommunication companies to increase their data tariffs at the expense of the currently suffering Nigerian people. This is without considering all the economic hardships scourging the people, in the country.”
“The whole device, plot, purport, is to make it difficult for the citizens to be able to say out their opinions, thereby lose their voices; which they can only do through the instrumentality of the social media to call government to account for any abuse of office or power.”
“The Government of President Buhari is taking every desperate steps and measures to suppress the voice of Nigerians.”
“We again ask, if the Government of Buhari encourages Telecommunication companies to increase their Tariffs on Data services, what is then the gain of the Privatization of the Telecommunications in the era of Chief Obasanjo? Privitation is to allow competition to regulate prices, and it should bring prices down for the benefit and the advantage of the Nigerian citizens.”
“Furthermore, the TELECOMS did not cry out to Buhari’s Government to say that they want a price or tariff
“We also thought that the Government ought to be concerned with negotiating a fair and better deal for the benefit and the advantage of the citizens.”
“However, Buhari and his cronies see the Social media as a threat to his incompetent government. This has informed his decisions to instruct Telecoms to hike up their prices and tariffs to frustrate millions of Nigerians away from the Internet and deny the people access to Social Media.”
“It is sad that President Buhari is not seeing the positive side of the criticisms against his administration, but rather, wants to clamp down on critics at all costs. It is also sad that Nigeria is lagging behind in the ICT world, where ICT companies are coming up with a more cheaper
means of making internet easily accessible, portable and available to millions of people all over the world and to reach more people globally at near zero cost.”
“We call on the Nigerian Senate and the House of Representatives to stop the government from this dastardly act against the people. One wonders, why any reasonable government would want to fix price for private companies against the interest of its citizens. Regulator (in
this case the government) should not meddle with private companies pricing, except where such companies operates a price regime that is disadvantageous to the, and that also rips people off.”
“The excuse given by the government is unfounded, untenable, unscrupulous, as it carries no weight and not sensible to all that have critically looked at it. It is nothing other than a ploy to cut the people off from the internet because Buhari and his cronies feel threatened by the people’s agitations on social media.”
“We also call on Mr Godwin Emefiele to stop his
unscrupulous idea of taxing Nigerians who make calls above 3 minutes. This is not a sensible idea at all. That after the caller buys call cards, pay VAT in the process, to still pay another TAX. This is a callous idea devised to have the citizens thoughtlessly imperiled and worse than they already are.”
“Mr Lai Mohammed should advise the government to deliver on its promises. No one loves to criticise Government. Everyone knows what is good and would prefer to commend whenever this Government shows one.”
“Democracy allows for free speech. Nigerians must at all time be able to express their wishes, desires, form opinion about the government, and hold government accountable where and when it is failing.”
“The attempt by the Government to gag or prevent them from doing so is an affront on the sensibilities of millions of Nigerians who democratically voted Buhari’s Government and it is an assault on our Demoncracy. “ We call on Nigerians, leaders, responsible civil society
groups, International bodies to wade into this matter now before Buhari traps Nigerians in Nigeria, making it hard to for them to participate in the global progress as made
possible through the internet.”
“If this is allowed to happen, the world would have suffered a set back as Buhari takes democracy in Nigeria to the grave. The implementation of this instructions or directives will result in a full blown Militocracy by a tyrant.”

LIVERPOOL vs LEEDS UNITED
78'
1 - 0
(HT 0 - 0)
11/29/16 League Cup
D. Origi 76'
76'Goal Divock Okoth Origi
75'Into the last 15 minutes at Anfield as the prospect of extra-time looms. Liverpool have started to up the urgency a bit, but neither side has been able to buy a goal tonight, which suggests we may be in for a long night here in Merseyside.
73'STAT: Leeds have lost nine of their last 11 League Cup matches against Premier League opposition, including all four of their away matches during this run.
71'UNBELIEVABLY CLOSE! Both sides have struck the woodwork now, and it's WIjnaldum who does so for Liverpool, latching onto a throughball from Mane and beating Silvestri, but not the post, as his finish is denied by the frame of the goal!
69'Roars from the supporters as Liverpool win a corner in front of the Kop end, but their anticipation is not met by the result, as the initial delivery is cleared, before the subsequent ball into the box from Ejaria is sent behind for a goal-kick.
67'
Kevin Stewart
Ben Woodburn
67'Liverpool finally get their replacement on for the injured Stewart, in the form of youth product Ben Woodburn.
66'HEADED WIDE! Bartley left unmarked in the centre from a corner, but heads wide from point-blank range! Pressure stays on as Leeds get right back into attack, but Roofe is denied from 15 yards by Mignolet!
64'STAT: No team has scored more goals in the League Cup this season than Liverpool (10).
62'
Stuart Dallas
Chris Wood
62'Leeds make their final change of the night just past the hour mark, and it's their leading scorer Chris Wood who comes on to replace Dallas. Wood will likely lead the line, pushing Doukara to the left.
60'Lucas does well to win the ball back high up the pitch and quickly finds passage to the top of the penalty area, before rolling a pass across to Can. The midfielder strikes for goal, but it takes a deflection en route, taking the sting out of it and making for an easy save for Silvestri.
58'Liverpool back to passing it around rather aimlessly around the halfway line. They're creating precious little, struggling to find any real cohesion, likely due to the wealth of changes to the team made by Klopp. They travel to Bournemouth on the weekend, a tricky fixture
with three points a must.
56'
Souleymane Doukara
56'Doukara is issued the first yellow card of the match for a foul on Stewart.
54'HOW UNLUCKY! Roofe denied the opener by the smallest of margins! It's Stewart who is dispossessed in his own end, with Roofe being teed up seconds later. He bends a terrific, dipping strike around Mignolet from 20 yards, but it rattles off the far post and stays out!
52'STAT: Leeds have featured seven times in the League Cup quarter-final, winning five. Their only appearance at this stage post-2000 ended in a 5-1 defeat to Chelsea in 2012/13.
50'TOO MANY TOUCHES! That was a golden opportunity for Origi, who is teed up in the area with a clean sight of goal, following a delightful back-heel from Mane, but he opts not to shoot first time for whatever reason. This allows the Leeds defence to recover and block him off, as the chance comes to nothing.
48'Cagey start to this second half as Liverpool probe in relatively harmless areas, with Leeds content on letting Liverpool continue to dominate possession, biding their time before trying to hit back on the counter - though they didn't have much success with that in the first
half.
46'Off we go again...
46'
Liam Cooper
Luke Ayling
46'One change at the break as Luke Ayling replaces Liam Cooper for Leeds in defence.
Goalless at the break at Anfield in this EFL Cup quarter- final tie, between this pair of old rivals. It has been a well-contested match, with both sides showing plenty of fight, but neither have found the cohesion or quality required in attack to break the deadlock. Perfectly poised ahead of the second half.
45'+1'HALF-TIME: LIVERPOOL 0-0 LEEDS.
45'There will be one minute added on at the end of this first half.
44'It's all fizzling out a bit as we approach half-time, with the two sides poised to head in scoreless. There should be a minute added on for the O'Kane injury, but there's been few stoppages otherwise.
42'THAT COULD HAVE GONE ANYWHERE! Stewart latches onto a loose ball atop the area and drives a strike goalwards. It takes a generous deflection off Lucas, which wrong-foots Mignolet, but winds up drifting wide of the near post!
40'STAT: This is the fourth meeting between these two clubs in the League Cup. Liverpool have won two of the previous three meetings, drawing the other.
38'Garry Monk is rather displeased as he has a chat with fourth official Mike Dean on the touchline, following a very delayed offside flag that went up to deny them an attack. Dallas was beyond the last defender, but he was inside his own half still when the pass played him into
acres of space on the left. That's a poor decision from the linesman.
36'It remains one-way traffic as we enter the final 10 minutes of the first half, but Silvestri has had an incredibly easy go of it in goal. Origi has been asked to move around to try and get in possession, and as a result Liverpool have been lacking that target man and focal point in attack.
34'TIDY BLOCK! That's a sumptuous pass from Moreno, effectively switching the play with a delightful ball delivered across the pitch with the outside of his foot, hitting Mane in stride. The winger breaks into the area and looks to feed Mane, but Taylor puts in an important
recovery tackle to see the threat aside.
32'AGONISINGLY WIDE! Miscommunication between Bartley and Silvestri allows Can to pounce on a back- pass, as neither fail to deal with the threat. The midfielder steps in and pokes the ball beyond the keeper, but it just rolls beyond the far post!
30'STAT: This is Leeds United’s first League Cup match against a Premier League opponent since a trip to Newcastle in September 2013, which ended in a 2-0 defeat.
28'
Eunan O'Kane
Kalvin Phillips
28'O'Kane walks off under his own power, a positive sign at least, as he's replaced here by Kalvin Phillips.
27'Bit of a lengthy stoppage here as O'Kane goes down in need of attention. A signal over to the touchline gets a couple of substitutes quickly warming, with Phillips the one being spoken to by Monk. This looks like it may force the midfielder's night to come to an early conclusion.
25'IMPORTANT BLOCK! A corner is floated into a
dangerous area, and Bartley's presence is enough to throw off Mignolet, who fails to deal with it. It runs through to Vieira on the edge of the box, but Origi tracks back excellently to see the shot aside, an important intervention with the keeper stranded.
23'Leeds continue to struggle to pass their way out from the back. Doukara manages to finally get on one of the hopeful balls over the top, played out from defence, and is able to shield off a defender before winning a free-kick. Good piece of hold-up play, that, from the striker, to provide some respite for the back line.
21'A first set-piece opportunity presents itself to the Reds, as they win a free-kick on the right flank, a yard in from the touchline. They have plenty of height in the team today, and Moreno tries to find some of that height with his delivery, in the form of Can, but the defence
does just enough to send it back wide.
19'Excellent work by Ejaria to strip O'Kane of possession on the edge of the box and pick out Moreno in space on the left. The full-back surges into the area and tries to drive a strike through the legs of a defender, but Berardi does well to get a block in.
17'STAT: Jurgen Klopp has won six of his eight League Cup games in charge of Liverpool.
15'Better from the visitors, who get forward tidily as Silvestri starts them out from the back. It leads to a sound period of possession on the fringes of the attacking third, but a stray pass from Roofe runs out
for a throw, as it disappointingly comes to nothing for
them in the end.
13'Slowly, but surely, Liverpool are looking dangerous. They're creating more and more with their endless time on the ball, something Leeds have to do better to disrupt. It's been all a bit too comfortable for the hosts in possession up to this point.
11'DELIGHTFUL ATTACKING MOVE! That's a work of art, vintage attacking play from Liverpool. Taylor's loose pass is pounced upon by Can, who picks out Origi, and the striker delivers an exquisite little dink into the area
for Wijnaldum, who volleys a stunning first-time effort at goal! Silvestri dives across to his left, rather heroically, and manages to parry.
9'All a bit untidy from the Leeds defence as they try and see aside the first threat, coming via a Liverpool corner. Taylor eventually manages to scramble it clear, but gives possession straight back to the hosts. Liverpool are spending close to every waking minute on the ball through the early stages of the match.
7'STAT: Leeds are the lowest positioned side
participating in the fifth round of the EFL Cup, one of just two Championship sides to reach this stage along with leaders Newcastle.
5'This has been a very bright opening to the match for Leeds, who are looking dangerous as they press high up the pitch, despite Liverpool largely dominating possession. It's all been rather pedestrian in these opening minutes from the Reds.
3'SPLENDID START! Nearly an opening goal inside of three minutes for Leeds, as Sacko gets on the end of a diagonal ball over the top. He finds himself through on goal, with Klavan giving chase, but Mignolet does well to spread himself and turn the strike behind for a corner.
1'AND WE'RE OFF! Leeds in all white as they get us underway, attacking left to right, with Liverpool in red.
Thank you.
And so, at one point over the next few minutes,
wherever you may be, please put everything aside and be silent, if only for a moment, to pay your respects.
There is no reprieve amidst tragedy, but for the unity it promotes. The football world is an unassailable family, and today we mourn together – we mourn the lives lost, while celebrating the lives lived.
With a little over five minutes still to go before kick-off, let’s take this time to pay tribute to the victims of Tuesday’s devastatingly tragic plane crash involving Brazilian football club Chapecoense.
Manager Garry Monk makes four changes to the Leeds side which won 2-1 at Rotherham on the weekend. Stuart Dallas replaces Chris Wood in attack, while Ronald Vieira and Gaetano Berardi also come into the team at the expense of Kalvin Phillips and Luke Ayling. Rob Green gets a rest as Marco Silvestri starts in goal.
Right-back Trent Arnold and midfield Ovie Ejaria, both of whom made their full-debut in the fourth round against Tottenham, get the call again tonight. Simon Mignolet returns in goal, Lucas Leiva and Ragnar Klavan form a partnership at centre-half, while Emre Can and Kevin Stewart join Ejaria in midfield.
Jurgen Klopp keeps just two players in the starting XI from their win over Sunderland on Saturday, with Georginio Wijnaldum and Sadio Mane keeping their place in the side, both lining up in the attacking trident, flanking striker Divock Origi, who played close to an hour after replacing the injured Philippe Coutinho on the weekend.
SUBS: Green, Ayling, Wood, Antonsson, Grimes, Phillips,
Mowatt.
LEEDS UNITED (4-2-3-1): Silvestri; Berardi, Bartley, Cooper, Taylor; Vieira, O'Kane; Sacko, Roofe, Dallas; Doukara.
SUBS: Karius, Clyne, Lovren, Milner, Henderson, Grujic, Woodburn.
LIVERPOOL (4-3-3): Mignolet; Arnold, Lucas, Klavan, Moreno; Ejaria, Stewart, Can; Mane, Wijnaldum, Origi.
CONFIRMED TEAM NEWS:
Leeds have won this competition just once in their history and would love nothing more than to change that, with the finish line in touching distance, but they face their toughest test yet in the form of Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Reds.
While priorities may reside elsewhere for Jurgen Klopp and Liverpool, they also don’t have European competition to worry about this season, the Reds can afford the minor distraction that would accompany a run to the final.
Both sides will have one eye on their league duties forthcoming on the weekend, with Liverpool in a heated title race and Leeds in an anxious battle of their own for promotion.

Hello and welcome to live coverage from Anfield for this English Football League Cup quarter-final tie between Liverpool and Leeds United!

Toke Makinwa writes about the time she found out Maje had a son and not his son with Anita!
Apparently Maje Ayida had two children with two different women in the 12+ years Toke Makinwa was with him. In her book, Toke writes about finding out her man of 9 years had a child with a lady named Crystal. She wrote;
"As I picked myself off the floor, I opened my laptop and typed Maje's email address in. Fingers trembling, heart pounding, I realized what I had just done, but I couldn't stop. I went through email after email until I found pictures of a boy that looked exactly like Maje. The boy
must have been about two years old and the email was from someone called Crsytal. The caption read, He loves noodles just like you. I peered at the little boy, my nose almost touching the screen of my laptop. The resemblance was uncanny. My laptop fell to the floor. When I asked Maje, he didn't deny the boy"
EGUAVOEN: WORLD CUP QUALIFICATION IN EAGLES' HANDS
The former national team player believes the country is just four points away from securing a ticket to the 2018 World Cup in Russia
Ex-international, Austin Eguavoen has insisted that Nigeria must target victories against Cameroon and Zambia at home to seal their ticket to the 2018 World Cup in Russia.
The Super Eagles lead Group B with six points after two games, and the 1994 Africa Cup of Nations winner says the three-time African kings are already on the right
track, adding that they must keep the momentum to achieve the desired result.
“It’s completely in our hands, we cannot afford to throw it away, and the boys must understand that it is not how beautiful we play now; it is securing maximum points in every game we play," Eguavoen told Goal.
“I’ve said it before the qualifiers started that if we can get a point in Zambia, we are on course, if we fail to get a point in Zambia, we would struggle, and after the game, we got three points which was very good.
"We had to consolidate against Algeria, first half we dominated, second half, it was Algeria all the way, but that’s why I said it’s not how beautiful we play but to get the maximum points and qualify for the world cup, and the Eagles technical crew led by Rohr can now settle down to map out strategies on how to do well.
"[The World Cup ticket] is in our hands, I see Nigeria qualifying because we have all the advantage in the world, and all we have to do is beat Cameroon at home and then we will be left to fight for one point.
“And except God says no, I don’t see Zambia picking a point in Nigeria in the second leg of the tie.”

Castro's death: Zuma to attend funeral, Mugabe off to Cuba, Jammeh suspends campaign
Abdur Rahman Alfa Shaban
Two African leaders have confirmed their participation in the funeral of the late Cuban leader and nationalist, Fidel Castro. Another leader has suspended his political campaign to mourn.
South African government confirmed that embattled president Jacob Zuma will be attending the event in the Cuban capital, Havana. Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe left Harare on Monday evening to Cuba for the event.
Mugabe was seen off at Harare International Airport by the two vice presidents, Cde Emmerson Mnangagwa and Cde Phelekezela Mphoko, several government ministers and
service chiefs.
Zimbabwe – Cuba relations The two countries (Zimbabwe and Cuba) share close ties that were born during the time of the liberation struggle
for Zimbabwe when Castro’s Cuba provided moral, material and military support to the cadres waging the liberation struggle.
After the liberation struggle, Cuba under Castro
continued to play an influential role in educating local science and maths teachers for the massive new education system. The programme runs till date at present day Bindura University of Science Education.
‘‘Zimbabwe at independence and up to date continues to benefit from the recruitment of Cuban medical doctors some of whom are in specialised such as oncologists, anesthetists, gynaecologists and others,’‘ the Zimbabwe
Broadcasting Corporation said on its news portal.
Zimbabwe South Africa relations
The South African government has confirmed that President Jacob Zuma will be in Havana for the funeral of the late leader who died aged 90. All South African flags are supposed to fly at half mast till 4th December.
‘‘President Zuma has ordered that the National Flag be flown at half-mast at all stations in South Africa today, 29 November 2016, on the date of the funeral of former President Castro. The National Flag is flying at half-mast in the South African mission in Cuba until the
4th of December.
‘‘Condolence books have been placed at the Union Buildings in Pretoria, Tuynhuys in Cape Town and at the offices of the Premiers throughout the country,’‘ a government statement read.
Before the statement, Zuma expressed his condolences in an earlier statement, which came after the Mandela Foundation’s condolence message issued on Saturday hours after the death was reported.
After South Africa gained freedom in 1994, Cuba and South Africa, under Presidents Castro and Mandela respectively, formed a strong bond of solidarity and friendship. Cuba was an open supporter to the anti- apartheid struggle.
“President Castro identified with our struggle against apartheid. He inspired the Cuban people to join us in our own struggle against apartheid. The Cuban people, under the leadership and command of President Castro, joined us in our struggle against apartheid,” said President Zuma.
“As a way of paying homage to the memory of President Castro, the strong bonds of solidarity, cooperation and friendship that exist between South Africa and Cuba must be maintained and nurtured,” he added.
Gambia’s Yahya Jammeh suspends campaign for
Castro
Gambia’s President Yahya Jammeh also suspended his presidential campaign ahead of next Thursday’s election as a mark of respect for Fidel Castro, the BBC’s reporter covering the elections has said.
Umaru Fofana said in a tweet, ‘‘Gambia’s President Yahyah Jammeh suspends his presidential campaign “to mourn” the death of Fidel Castro, information minister tells me.’‘
Mr Jammeh who came to power in 1994 is said to have close links to Castro. Cuba was one of the first countries to establish diplomatic relations with Banjul after Mr Jammeh took power following a coup.
Like in other African countries, Cuban doctors have also been working in The Gambia. Jammeh is seeking re-election for a fifth term and for the first time he will be facing a single major opposition candidate.

Somalia's presidential elections postponed again
Somalia’s presidential elections scheduled for November 30 have been postponed for a third time to a later unspecified date.
The chairman of the country’s electoral body told the media on Monday that the elections will be held before the end of the year.
Parliamentary elections expected to end before the scheduled date for the presidential is ongoing despite reports of irregularities and corruption which are under investigation.
Members of the 275-seat Lower House of parliament and the 54-seat Upper House elect the president, according to the country’s Provisional Federal Constitution.
As universal elections are not yet possible in Somalia, 14,025 clan representatives who form part of an Electoral College elect the 275 members of the Lower House of parliament while regional parliaments elect the 54 members of the Upper House.
Among the presidential candidates are the incumbent President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud and Fadumo Dayib, one of the two females to ever run for president in the East African country that has faced threats from Islamist

Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia, Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) Godwin Obla granted N20m each
Justice Akeem Oshodi of the Lagos state High Court today granted Justice Rita Ofili-Ajumogobia of the Federal High Court and a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Godwin Obla, bail based on self recognition in the sum of Twenty Million Naira each which is to be deposited with the registrar of the court. Ajumogobia and Obla were Monday arraigned on a 30-count charge of offering gratification to a public servant, unlawful enrichment, conspiracy to pervert the course of justice and giving false information to an officer of the Commission. Justice Oshodi granted their bail applications and ordered them to deposit their International Passports with the court. Both Ajumogobia and Obla were given a 7 day ultimatum to perfect the bail conditions, otherwise theirbail will be revoked.
During their trial, the first prosecuting witness, Ademola Oshodi, who is a branch manager of Diamond Bank, told the court that he is Justice Ajumogobia’s account manager and carried out various transactions for her. He said he used to receive monies in Naira and U.S Dollars and
that he often made deposits into her Diamond bank account. Ademola further revealed that there were transactions between him and the defendant wherein he would receive monies for her and send to her account.
“Whenever there was a cash inflow of more than Five Hundred Thousand, I will keep a certain amount in my account, and forward the remaining to her account” he said.
Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia, allegedly received gratifications from a public servant and also unlawfully enriched herself by receiving huge sums of money into her Diamond Bank account without reasonable explanation. The Federal High Court Judge also gave false information to an officer of the EFCC that she was admitted at Gold Cross Hospital, Bourdillon Road, Ikoyi, Lagos which turned out to be untrue. Obla, SAN, was also alleged to have given the sum of Five Million Naira (N5, 000, 000. 00) to Justice Ofili-Ajumogobia in order to influence her official duties.
The matter was adjourned to January 9, 2017 for
continuation of trial.
